Students attend college to get an education, make some new friends and have some fun. But the students at Chaminade University in Honolulu, Hawaii have been exposed to more of an education than they ever thought possible. Along with learning new lessons and finding new areas of interests, students have been known to find ghosts! Some of the dorms are even considered to be haunted!
This four-year liberal arts college is popular with many students as they enjoy learning in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. Located in suburban Honolulu, it is just two miles from beautiful Waikiki beach. The small Catholic college has approximately 1,000 students enrolled full-time.
But there are other, non-enrolled “residents†currently on campus that students and staff alike have gotten to know rather well. The stories of hauntings and ghosts at Honolulu’s Chaminade get passed down from one graduating class to the next. While some students wonder about getting along with their roommates, students at Chaminade University know they also have to get to know the haunted spirits and ghosts that exist on their campus.
One of the many haunted ghost stories involves one student who loved to skateboard around the dorms and apparently still does -- as a ghostly spirit. Students are no longer surprised if they hear the whizzing sound of a skateboard with no one actually around – they know who it is. This fun-loving sophomore was killed in a car accident several years ago. Students have heard this ghost in the evenings, as he skateboards around. But he is especially heard on Halloween night -- that was his favorite holiday!
The light-hearted voices of two little children can be heard in the Hale Hoaloha dorm. The children seem to be playing a game with a ball, according to many that have heard them. It is unclear if these children have been seen, but it has been reported many times that they have been heard. The voices of these two children have been heard by a number of people. One evening, three students had the exact same dream of children laughing and the sound of death coming from inside the earth. The legend of these ghosts lives on.
Strong doors have been mysteriously opened very easily in the Hale Lokelani dorm at Chaminade, even when they have been bolted shut. While some might wonder if that was a student prank, some have seen things with their very eyes that make them think otherwise. There have been a number of sightings of ghosts in the Hale Lokelani dorm rooms. Students have also complained about noises in the middle of the night that seem to literally come from nowhere -- as the source of the noises is never to be found.
Also in Hale Lokelani, there is a room that has had a crucifix removed from the wall, but you can still see the outline. This dorm was used as a children's hospital during World War II. There is a lot of energy still in the room. People have heard noise from the speakers that are in the walls even though the wires have been completely removed. Some students have even awaked to feeling pressure on their body or the feeling of being choked. There have been sightings of the ghosts of dead soldiers -- as one of the rooms in that dorm was used as the morgue. |
